LITTLE RIPPERS KIDS CAMP
August 5th - 9th 2024
Ride Camps are super excited to be hosting a specially designed downhill mountain bike week for the Little Rippers community.
Kids Lessons
Children specific mountain bike lessons organised for 2 - 3 hours daily in the Les 2 Alpes resort.
Hosted by Ride Camps and their wonderful instructors who are renowned for their excellence, especially with kids lessons.
Their experience with engaging children, teaching tools and resort knowledge will ensure a fantastic riding week for your little ripper.
Our lessons will be separated across 3 levels:
Little Ones - Recommended for children 3 - 6 years old.
The lessons will take place at the resort level and will be filled with fun tasks to improve their balance and bike handling.
They will use our local skills areas like wooden obstacles and pump track.
We have Sender Ramps kit for the children to try and progress with during their week.
They will take little tours of the resort and surrounding areas.
Bike Park Intro - Recommended for children 7 - 13 years old.
This group is designed for children tackling their first downhill descents.
They will take their first chairlifts and follow easier trails of the 2 Alpes Bike Park.
Learning techniques in the skills areas to apply to the trails.
Bike Park Rippers - Recommended for children 7 - 13 years old.
This group is for regular bike park users who will progress on to more difficult trails.
Technique and confidence will be built to tackle bike park features and travel with more speed.
There will be a permanent base/meeting point throughout the week with a member of staff to coordinate pick ups, drop offs and help answer any questions.
Please use us as a resource for helping your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Plus join us at our annual street party on Friday evening to finish the week right!
Expect mini bike comps, prizes, music, celebrations & mountain bike hype to inspire the Little Rippers.
We will make further announcements as we finalise plans.
Dates & times
Cost
Our Little Ones will ride 2 hours daily. This level is 200€ per child for the week.
Bike Park Intro & Bike Park Rippers groups will ride for 3 hours daily. This level is 250€ per child for the week.
What you will need
Mountain bike. For the Little Ones group, their usual mountain bike, all bikes will suit this level.
For the Bike Park Intro group, we ask for a mountain bike capable of descending green/blue trails, ideally full suspension.
For the Bike Park Rippers group we ask for an enduro or downhill mountain bike.
If you need to hire bikes we work with Jacques Sports, Camp de Base & La Skirie.
They provide discounted rates, ask us for the price list and we'll help plan your hire.
Full face helmet. A full face helmet is essential for all levels.
Body protections. A body vest including chest, back, shoulder and forearm protection & knee protections.
Gloves. Mountain bike specific gloves are recommended to prevent blisters and protect your hands.
We advise full finger gloves as opposed to fingerless.
Clothing. Dress to the weather.
Shorts and t-shirt for hot days, long trousers and long sleeves if you prefer more coverage.
Add jumpers for colder days and rain coats for wet days.
Extras. A little rucksack your child can wear to carry suntan lotion, a water bottle & snacks.
Please send us your queries if you are unsure about your child's kit.
Lift pass & insurance. Our bike park is accessible by chairlifts.
Both bike park groups will need a lift pass to use the lifts that take you to the top of the trails.
It is possible to add insurance to your lift pass if you do not have your own cover.
We benefit from slightly discounted lift pass prices, ask us for the price list and we'll help to organise your passes.
Everyone has different accommodation needs.
We have lots of advice, so be sure to ask us if you'd like guidance.
